DUET Implement Outcome Based Education System OBE with PEC: The Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) has decided to adopt the Outcome-Based Education System on the directives of Pakistan Engineering Council.
According to DUET officials, the program is expected to address engineering issues that can not be solved without good knowledge. This election was made by the Vice-Chancellor of DUET, Dr. Faizullah Abbasi, at the eighth meeting of the academic council held previously. In addition, he affirmed the minutes of the last meeting of the academic council.
Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Taj Haider, College Education Department Additional Secretary Faqeer Muhammad Lakho, DUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Pir Roshan Din Shah Rashdi and others attended the meeting.
They also examined the rules for the Ph.D. programs, the rate structure, the academic activities on campus and the current session’s status of the year. On the occasion, VC Faizullah Abbasi swore that DUET aimed to promote the culture of research in the field of engineering. He said that all the members of the faculties made an effort to give regular classes for the students and also focused on the research projects that were being carried out by the seniors.
The faculties and members of the academic council approved Master of Sciences (MS) and PhD programmes in industrial engineering, the statement added. It was also discussed that the syndicate will approach PEC and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science programmes.
